Intense Training

There’s a world cycling championship atmosphere on the roads of Varese. This video race covers the circuit that crowned Alessandro Ballan World Champion in 2008. In short, a training session for real world champions! A circuit without very steep uphill sections, though anything but easy, where you frequently have to use force and constantly change the pace. The world championship course has continual bends with short uphill and fast downhill sections, and the race is not easy to tactically interpret.

The circuit has two breakaway sections which are the climb of Via Montello and that of Ronchi; not impossible, but both demanding and quite distinct. Then, after the last climb there is a long flat section going towards Le Bettole race track, for giving it everything you’ve got in order to cross the finishing line of “our world championship” with flying colours.
